Dr. Mikaela Almeida completed her Bachelor of Science degree with distinction at the University of Guelph with an honours specialization in Bio-Medical Science. With a thirst for knowledge and early exposure to dentistry from her mother, a registered dental hygienist of 40 years, she developed a passion for the dental profession and maintenance of oral health.
Dr. Mikaela then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. While there, Dr. Mikaela was recognized for her research involvements, and was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honour Society and
Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honour Society for her commitment to service and academic achievements, respectively.
Dr. Mikaela recognizes that dental visits can be a stressful experience and therefore, strives to make your visit as comfortable as possible by approaching each encounter with a listening ear, empathetic demeanour, and patient-centered mindset. Dr. Mikaela continues to devote herself to lifelong learning through completion of continuing education courses with a goal of providing her patients with the best possible care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Mikaela enjoys being active through water skiing and hiking outdoors, travelling, watching hockey games, and spending time with family, friends, and of course her dog, Charlie.
